These Terms govern your use of Trazo, a bike-route planning service operated by Arkalogy LLC ("Company," "we," "our"). By accessing or using Trazo, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
⚠ Safety disclaimer — read this
Trazo's safety ratings (Level of Traffic Stress), route suggestions, elevation, and crossing warnings are computed estimates derived from public map data and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are informational only and are not a guarantee that any route, path, or crossing is safe.
Cycling carries inherent risks. You are solely responsible for your own safety. You must obey all traffic laws and signals, use appropriate safety equipment, and ride according to the actual conditions you encounter — not what the app shows. Always use your own judgment. Arkalogy LLC is not liable for any accident, injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising from your use of Trazo.
The service
Trazo helps you plan bike routes and distance-targeted loops and surfaces information about paths, amenities, and conditions in select U.S. metropolitan areas, with more added over time. The service is currently provided free of charge and may change, pause, or end at any time.
Map data and accuracy
Map and routing data are derived from OpenStreetMap and other third-party sources. This data is community-maintained and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Distances, surfaces, elevation, classifications, and points of interest are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Open data attribution. Trazo's routing and network data served by the map app are a derivative database produced from OpenStreetMap. © OpenStreetMap contributors. This derived data is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0; the underlying OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the same license (see openstreetmap.org/copyright). Map tiles are © OpenMapTiles and OpenStreetMap contributors via OpenFreeMap. Elevation is derived from NASA SRTM (public domain) via opentopodata.org.
Your submissions
Trazo lets you submit content such as condition and hazard reports, notes, reviews, suggested points of interest, and photos. You are responsible for what you submit, and you represent that it is accurate, lawful, and not misleading, abusive, or infringing — and, for any photo, that you took it or otherwise have the rights to it and that any identifiable person appearing in it has consented to your submitting it and to its public display. By submitting content, you grant Arkalogy LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, reproduce, publicly display, distribute, and use that content to operate, promote, and improve the service — including displaying it on the map and in shared-link and social preview cards. Approved submissions (and photos) may be shown publicly to anyone, including people who do not use Trazo. Submissions are community-sourced and unverified; we may review, edit, decline, or remove any submission at our discretion but are not obligated to. You may request removal of content you have submitted as described in our Privacy Policy; we may retain information as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Submit false, misleading, abusive, or infringing content;
- Scrape, bulk-download, or use automated means to access or overload the service;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the service or its security.
Accounts
You can use Trazo without an account; your saved routes and submissions are then tied to an anonymous identifier stored in your browser. You may also create an account and sign in with Apple, Google, an email magic link, or an email and password. When you first sign in, data previously tied to your browser identifier is migrated to your account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account, and for keeping your account information accurate. You can sign out at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The Trazo name, brand, design, and software are owned by Arkalogy LLC and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works of the app or brand without our written permission. Underlying map data remains the property of its sources and is used under their licenses (for example, OpenStreetMap data under the Open Database License).
Analytics & advertising
We record aggregate, pseudonymous usage of the app (such as the kinds of routes planned, facility categories tapped, and features used) to improve Trazo and to support local advertising, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not record your exact routes or search text for this purpose, and we do not build individual advertising profiles or track in-person visits. California residents have specific opt-out and sensitive-information rights described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
Trazo relies on third-party providers — including Cloudflare (hosting, edge functions, and web analytics), Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), Google and Apple (sign-in), Google Analytics and Mixpanel (analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), and OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap, and Photon/komoot (map data and geocoding). Your use of features powered by these providers may be subject to their respective terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arkalogy LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any personal injury, death, or property damage, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arkalogy LLC and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting with an updated date. Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
