Bike Golden,
creek to summit.

Golden is where the plains meet the mountains — the Clear Creek Trail runs car-free right through downtown and east toward Denver, while Lookout Mountain and the Lariat Loop rise straight out of town for one of the most famous climbs in the country. Plan a low-stress route, a flat creek cruise, or a distance loop.

Riding Golden

Few towns pack this much riding into so little space: a flat, car-free creek path through the heart of downtown, a legendary mountain climb on the edge of it, and open-space mesas on either side. Here's the backbone.

~20 PAVED MI

Clear Creek Trail

The spine — flat and car-free along Clear Creek from downtown Golden east through Wheat Ridge toward Denver, one of the metro's best paved paths.

CLIMB

Lookout Mountain & Lariat Loop

The pilgrimage — switchbacks straight up from town to Buffalo Bill's grave and the summit, a bucket-list climb that starts at the edge of downtown.

GRAVEL

North Table Mountain Loop

A wide gravel loop around the flat-topped mesa just north of town — big views, mellow grades, and a quick escape onto dirt.

~6 PAVED MI

Peaks to Plains Trail

The growing path up Clear Creek Canyon west of town — a separated route toward the foothills away from US-6 traffic.

~5 PAVED MI

Golden to Wheat Ridge Greenbelt

The Clear Creek Trail's eastward run through cottonwood bottoms and the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt lakes — flat, shaded, and quiet.

TRAILS

Apex & South Table Mountain

Open-space singletrack and doubletrack on the mesas framing town — the gateway to Golden's mountain-bike network.

Why Trazo

Built for riders who'd rather not gamble on traffic

Every street and path is graded for how calm and connected it really is — so the route you get is one you'll actually enjoy.

See what's protected

Trails, lanes, and quiet streets are color-graded by stress level — cool means calm, red means watch out.

Loops by distance

Want a 12-mile ride? Get loops that hit your target and bring you back home, not an out-and-back you have to reverse.

Busy-crossing alerts

The map flags uncontrolled crossings — busy roads with no signal — so nothing catches you off guard.

Elevation-aware

See the climb before you commit, and flip on “prefer flat” when you (or the kids) aren't in the mood for hills.

How it works

From “where do I even ride?” to rolling in three steps

Set your start & destination

Search an address, drop a pin, or use your location. Or pick “Loop ride” and just set a distance.

Pick your comfort level

Kid-friendly, relaxed, or anything-goes. Trazo biases the route toward protected paths to match — and you can drag the line to add a stop.

Ride it

Follow turn-by-turn with voice cues, see your elevation profile, find pit stops along the way, or export a GPX.
